1 The End Of A Love Affair 2 P.J. * 3 I Got It Bad And That Ain't Good 4 Let Me Know * 5 Quietude 6 Upper Manhattan Medical Group 7 Con Alma 8 Lima A Princess 9 Like Sonny
Rob Madna(p), Koos Serierse(b) and Erik Ineke(ds) * composed by Rob Madna - Recorded 1976
Originally this album was released on vinyl in 1976 [Omega OM 555.058]. This release is special because it was taken out of the stores after one week or so. Rob Madna had second-thoughts about the album and did not wanted that the album was distributed in any way, so the producer and record company had to respect this and album was taken out of the stores, approx. 200 copies were sold in this short period of time. In the late 90s the Japanese Atelier Sawano company did obtain the copyrights of the recording and released this album on CD and LP in January 2000; Atelier Sawano CD: catalog no. AS002. How to BUY this Atelier Sawano release. Or visit the original Sawano Kohboh Japan website, do use the Google or the AltaVista on-line translate service.
Also available at FONOS. However this CD release is a so-called LP-to-CD transfer. More at FONOS [update oct. 2009: this item is no longer available at FONOS]
Update August 2010: it seems that Atelier Sawano opened their own Ebay shop and this Rob Madna release is listed for 33 US$, more at the Atelier Sawano Ebay shop.

|
This CD of the Rob Madna Trio with saxophonist Ferdinand Povel, features a radio appearance in 1976, made at the famous Nick Vollebregt Café in Laren (Holland), where over the years numerous recordings for broadcast purposes have taken place. 'Broadcast Business '76' is no memorial album: it has been in preparation for some time. The album contains a few compositions from Madna's '70s repertoire, like Billy Strayhorn's 'U.M.M.G.' and Thad Jones' 'Quietude', which the trio recorded for the LP 'I Got It Bad And That Ain't Good 'only a few weeks after the radio date.
Personnel: Rob Madna (p), Ferdinand Povel (as), Koos Serierse (b), Eric Ineke (dr) 1. Quietude 2. In an aquarian mood 3. Like Sonny 4. U.M.M.G. 5. I know you care 6. Satellite 7. Pori 1
