Tube alternatives Mugen Amplifier as published in Elektuur/Elektor issue 10-2007.
Notice: Minor component changes and adjustments have to be made to use the tubes mentioned here ! READ VERY CAREFULLY !

Original design : ECC83 + ECC88 Alternative 1: 5965 + 6BQ7a Alternative 2: 5965 + 6N1P Alternative 3: 5965 + 6CG7/6FQ7 Alternative 4: 5965 + V2 and use of the IXYS IXCP10M45 instead of R7 [no use of R7]
notice: - maybe you need to change P1 for a 5K potentiometer. - the 5965 is pincompatible with the ECC83. - the 6N1P, 6CG7/6FQ7 and the 6BQ7A are pincompatible with the ECC88. - using the 5965 there is no option for overall FB. Overall gain using the 5965 with no FB is 22 dB; for 100 watt into 5 ohm sensitivity is 1.9Veff. - all measurements load is 5 ohm and no use of overall FB.
